In the first semester of 2009, over 45000 fewer real-estate transactions have been recorded, compared to the same period of last year.
Due to the decrease in real-estate transactions, realtors are not the only ones to suffer. Public notaries have recorded consistent drops in the amounts cashed in as taxes for the real-estate transactions revenues.
In the first trimester of this year, according to the National Union of Public Notaries, over 45000 less transactions have been recorded, significantly less than in the same period of 2008. Implicitly, the amounts cashed in by the notaries are lower than in the same period last year.
